No egg, no dairy
Every ingredient is plant-based, and the full list is on the shop counter.
Crispy outside, chewy inside!
No animal products, and gluten free. Every stick is fried after you order it. A hidden cafe tucked into a back alley — a cheerful little snack for your day in Asakusa.
100% PLANT-BASED
No eggs, no milk, no butter. A rice-flour and soy-butter dough, fried in rice oil — crisp outside, soft inside. Vegan or not, everyone enjoys the same churro.
Every ingredient is plant-based, and the full list is on the shop counter.
Nothing sits under a lamp. Each stick goes into the fryer after you order.
We hand it over in a paper bag — enjoy it while you stroll the Asakusa shopping streets.
WHY IT'S GOOD
The things we're particular about at Vegan Churros.
Soy butter instead of dairy butter, rice flour instead of wheat. We tested the fat-to-flour balance again and again until the dough puffed up without a single egg. Every batch is made in the shop.
Nothing is made in advance. We pipe the dough and fry it the moment your order is in. It takes a few extra minutes, but that is exactly where the crunch and the chewy centre come from.
Break one open and it is packed with cream. Our own piping nozzle gives a one-to-one ratio of dough to cream, and we keep the cream low in sugar so the dough still comes through.
OUR COFFEE
Roasted in the shop, poured while the aroma is still rising.
We roast our coffee in the shop, starting from green beans and working in small batches. We watch the colour and the aroma change as the heat goes in, and listen for the crackle of first crack to judge when to stop. The beans are cooled straight away so no extra heat carries on cooking them, which keeps the aroma and flavour locked in. It is a taste you only get from roasting on site — a warm, toasty aroma and coffee served close to the moment it was roasted.
Ours is a small shop, and there is a limit to how much we can roast at one time, so our house-roasted coffee is served in limited quantities. Rather than making large batches in advance, we check the condition of the beans and roast only what the day needs, a little at a time. We cannot serve the same thing in volume every day, but we can make each cup carefully and hand it over while it is still fragrant. Once we reach the planned quantity for the day, sales end — thank you for understanding.
Note: menu items made with espresso use vegan-friendly espresso capsules rather than our house-roasted beans.
